The mission of the Birmingham Pledge is to inspire people worldwide to end racism one person at a time. Since its inception in 1997, over one-hundred thousand people on nearly every continent, beginning with individuals in Birmingham, Alabama, have signed The Birmingham Pledge.

The Birmingham Pledge is Birmingham, Alabama’s way to share with the world our community's commitment to eliminate prejudice in the lives of all people. It is a personal, daily commitment to remove prejudice from our own lives, as well as the lives of others, and to treat all people with respect.

Our educational mission, at the core of the Birmingham Pledge Foundation, provides teachers with classroom materials and lesson plans to teach students about treating others with dignity and respect.

Diversity Partners have embraced the mission of The Birmingham Pledge by sponsoring awareness campaigns within their places of business and in the communities in which they operate.
